Prospective candidates will ideally have some experience in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques.  They should also be able to demonstrate excellent client service skills, and the ability to think outside the box.  A good head for numbers, the ability to manage several projects at the one time, a strong sense of curiosity and strong communications skills are all desirable attributes.

As a key member of the research team at RED C you will be involved in a variety of projects, utilising the latest techniques for clients across many industries, including FMCG, Telecoms, Banking, Retail, Public Sector and Media.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the research process, including proposal preparation, project design and management, analysis and delivery of key consumer insights to our blue chip client list.  Initially the role will involve monitoring the progress of a research project through the various stages from commissioning, to statistical sampling, liaising with our data collection and data analysis departments, to preparation of presentation of findings and interpretation of data using numerical skills to put in a user friendly presentation format for clients.

There is also an opportunity for the right candidate to develop their qualitative skills conducting and analysing depth interviews and focus groups.  The role will then progress to proposal and cost preparation, to final recommendations and presentations to clients.

The position will include training in all different aspects of research including all the traditional research approaches and also introducing you to some of the new techniques developed in RED C and worldwide.

The day to day job involves taking a job and running with it from beginning to end. Liaising with the various departments, ensuring each has a clear understanding of a projects objectives/timelines and they have what they need from the research team to meet those objectives and timelines.

Extensive training will be provided in all aspects of research and insight delivery, through on the job mentoring and a structured training course as part of the RED C Academy.

Market research provides an interesting and varied career.

  1. Develop an understanding of consumer behaviour – Learning how customers make decisions, how to research new products and how to price products and services are all useful skills for many different business roles, both in Ireland the UK and around the world.
  2. Learn from leading brands – The largest brands are voracious consumers of research , creating opportunities to do work with major brands right out of college. In an average day a research exec could work on a number of different projects for a range of different clients such as a Centra, Lucozade, Microsoft, Liberty, Vodafone, and Dublin Airport.  This provides a huge variety and exposure to different industries.
  3. Develop strong consulting skills – A good market researcher has to not only master the fundamentals of research methodology but also needs to be a great communicator. Someone who can understand the numbers and tell a compelling story will stand out in market research.
  4. Learn about many different industries – It is great to be exposed to many different types of businesses. Over time, a researcher will be exposed to many different industries, including retail, telecoms, banking, FMCG, alcohol, politics and more.
  5. Leverage the latest social and technological trends – market research is at the cutting edge of new techniques such as facial coding, biometric testing, behavioural economics and social media analysis.

Suitable candidates for the position will have a third level degree and ideally some exposure to market research through working for clients or agencies, or through post graduate studies, or for a Senior Exec Position will have 1-2 years experience at another agency.

  • Must be willing to work a minimum of 12 hours per week.

  • Must have excellent communication skills.
